When dining with locals, it’s common to offer a polite “please” (“po”) and “thank you” (“salamat”) as a sign of appreciation.

Weather

Weather

Metro Manila’s weather is characterized by a tropical climate, with two distinct seasons: wet and dry. In November, Metro Manila experiences the transition from the wet season to the dry season, offering pleasant weather conditions for visitors and residents alike. While occasional rainfall may still occur, particularly in the early part of the month, the frequency and intensity of showers generally decrease as November progresses. However as a tropical country, heat and humidity is still very much present and it is best to come prepared.

When packing for your trip to Metro Manila, consider the following:

Weather

Lightweight and breathable clothing: Pack light, and bring airy clothing made from breathable fabrics like cotton to stay comfortable in the tropical heat. Don’t forget to include a few moisture-wicking outfits for days with high humidity.

Weather

Sun protection: Shield yourself from the sun’s rays by packing sunscreen with a high SPF, sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, and lightweight long-sleeved clothing for added protection.

Weather

Rain gear: Be prepared for occasional rain showers during the wet season by bringing
a compact umbrella or a lightweight raincoat. Waterproof footwear, such as sandals or waterproof shoes, can also be useful for navigating wet streets.

Weather

Portable fan or handheld fan: Stay cool on
hot days with a portable fan or handheld fan, especially if you plan to explore outdoor attractions or markets where air conditioning
may be limited.

Weather

Insect repellent: Protect yourself from mosquito bites, especially during the wet season, by packing insect repellent with DEET or other effective ingredients.

Weather

Reusable water bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the day by carrying a reusable water bottle and refilling it at water stations or trusted sources to avoid dehydration in the heat.

Weather

Power adapter and voltage converter: If you’re traveling from a country with different electrical standards, don’t forget to pack a power adapter and voltage converter to charge your electronic devices safely. For the Philippines there are three associated plug types, A, B and C.
