The Cultural Night of the 76th Council Meeting of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA 2024), held on 19 November 2024 at The Cove in Okada, embraced the theme of Paskong Pinoy (A Filipino Christmas), offered attendees an unforgettable journey into the magic of Paskong Pinoy, or a Filipino Christmas. Renowned as the world’s longest holiday season and one of the Philippines’ most celebrated traditions, Pasko is an unparalleled blend of tradition, culture, and joyous festivities. The venue sparkled with the dazzling lights of Parols (traditional Christmas lanterns), setting the stage for an evening of vibrant Filipino culture and holiday cheer.

The program featured remarkable performances, including an energetic dance showcase by UPeepz, an award-winning hip-hop dance group from Manila. Their performance brought the audience to their feet, blending contemporary energy with Filipino artistry. Adding to the immersive experience, attendees explored various cultural stations that highlighted the richness of Filipino traditions. Attendees indulged in Filipino holiday delicacies, such as puto bumbong and bibingka (rice cakes), and even sampled the infamous balut alongside local spirits made from sugar cane and coconut. Participants learned traditional Filipino dances like the Tinikling, a lively and intricate dance involving bamboo poles, and had the chance to don traditional Filipino attire, immersing themselves in the elegance of the Barong Tagalog and Baro’t Saya.

The night was a feast for the senses, filled with laughter, music, food, and camaraderie. The festive spirit and Filipino hospitality created an atmosphere of joy and celebration, leaving attendees with lasting memories of this vibrant cultural experience. The Cultural Night truly embodied the essence of Paskong Pinoy, a harmonious blend of tradition, innovation, and Filipino exuberance, offering a glimpse into the Philippines’ rich heritage and warm holiday celebrations.
